"Asynchronous Οnline Discussions in Collaborative Project Based Learning and 21st Century skills: A case study of an eTwinning project"

"Web-based communication and collaboration is the dominant trend in the 21st century and education must provide the students with the skills that prepare them for their professional and social future. This study examines how the Forum was used by students in order to complete a collaborative production in an eTwinning project among international schools in a distance. In particular, we examine the educational design that has been followed and the students’ satisfaction from their experience in the Forum and the evaluation made by teachers and pupils for the added value of the particular educational strategy. The main conclusions of this research are that all participants, both students and teachers, are satisfied with their experience; they consider as the main benefit for them their participation in a learning community in which the 21st Century skills were developed among the students in varying degrees and after highlighting some difficulties that they had faced, they make suggestions for improvement and transferability in a different frame; they confirm that they are willing and prepared in adapting the same strategy in their future projects."
